Economic
Development Commission
The Robeson County Economic Development Commission is a non-profit organization utilizing
public funds to promote Robeson County's economic growth. The Economic Development
Commission works with new and existing industries for the creation of new jobs, an expanded tax
base in the county and a stronger local economy through the business retention and expansion
program.
The Robeson County Economic Development Commission recognizes that existing industries have
been and continue to be a valuable source of new job creation and investment. Strong existing
industries allow a community to prosper over the long term.
The Business Retention & Expansion Program offers the following services to new and existing
industries:
- State and county incentive financing for new and expanding industry
- Provides assistance to companies in the areas of employment, transportation, education and utilities
- Contact with appropriate agencies on behalf of the company to address specific needs
- Communication of the needs, problems and issues affecting the manufacturing community
- Recognition of achievements and contributions of companies
- Annual appreciation dinner
- Annual industrial golf tournament
- Annual industrial appreciation week
- Public relations efforts
